On Thursday, October 4, 2018, we are pleased to welcome Robert W. Courtney.
Robert Courtney is a globally successful entrepreneur and senior strategic advisor with more than 25 years of business and legal experience in the USA, Russia and the CIS, Scandinavia, Asia, and Mexico Asia.
He has created and driven growth in pioneering ventures in commercial real estate, health care, and retail. Included are the first Western medical and dental centers in Russia and Azerbaijan; the first international real estate brokerage network in Russia (Century 21); new-to-Russia retail brands (KFC, Le Pain Quotidien); the first third-party specialty leasing provider to shopping malls across Scandinavia and Russia; a China-USA-Mexico manufacturing joint venture; and the global re-branding of Taiwan.
Throughout his career, he has contributed impactful business-minded best practices to the development of nonprofits, including currently as a leader within the Board and Executive Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, where he is an advocate for the positive role business can and should play in international relations.
Robert holds an International MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a J.D. from Stetson University Law School, and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University. He is a member of the Florida and California Bar Associations and he teaches global business at the Saint Petersburg State Graduate School of Management and International Law at the Pericles Law Center in Moscow.
