John C. Bierley Legacy Award
The John C. Bierley Legacy Award
In 2026, following a period of thoughtful transition in leadership, the Tampa Bay Area Committee on Foreign Relations (TBACFR) established the John C. Bierley Legacy Award to honor the legacy and enduring contributions of one of its most distinguished members.
This annual award recognizes an outstanding member of the Committee who exemplifies the spirit of service, dedication, and vision that John C. Bierley embodied throughout his tenure, since 1972. The award seeks to celebrate individuals who have made exceptional contributions in one or more of the following areas:
- Advancing the Committee’s Mission: Through innovative programming, thoughtful discourse, or strategic initiatives that have elevated the Committee’s role as a forum for informed dialogue on international affairs.
- Embodying Core Values: Demonstrating unwavering commitment to the principles of civil discourse, intellectual curiosity, global awareness, and respect for diverse perspectives that define our organization.
- Community Leadership: Serving as a bridge between the Committee and the broader Tampa Bay community, fostering connections that enhance public understanding of foreign relations and America’s role in the world.
- Mentorship and Engagement: Inspiring fellow members and the next generation of globally-minded citizens through active participation, mentorship, and dedication to the Committee’s continued growth.
The John C. Bierley Legacy Award represents more than recognition—it is a commitment to perpetuating the values and standards of excellence that will ensure the Committee’s relevance and impact for generations to come.
The first John C. Bierley Legacy Award is awarded to Pat Collier Frank in recognition of her longstanding service to our Committee and our community
